After the release of the Breeze in 2016, Yuneec’s small consumer drone was quickly overshadowed by the more capable and more popular DJI Spark. But now it is 2018, and the Yuneec Breeze is a bargain at under $200! I’ve tested countless drones in this price range so I am very familiar with the features and capabilities of drones under $200. About a week ago, we wrote about the latest drone from Yuneec the Mantis Q. Initially only available in Europe, but now we got an email from Yuneec letting us know that the voice-controlled and foldable drone will be available for pre-order in the US as well. Pre-orders start today. It is priced at $499.99 which puts it well below the DJI Mavic Air and the Parrot Anafi but higher than the DJI Spark. However, if you want the remote control, three batteries, a shoulder bag, and more, the price will come to $649.99, which puts it in direct competition with the drones I mentioned before as well as the DJI Mavic Pro. A couple of days ago, drone enthusiast David Eighteen took his Yuneec Typhoon H (not the Plus) to the waterfront of the River Medway and sort of stumbled upon this almost 100-year-old U-boat while flying his drone. David’s hi-res aerial photos and some additional research into this shipwreck make for a very interesting story and it is a great example of how drones can open up a new world that otherwise may go unnoticed.

Aimed at aerial photographers, creative professionals, and small drone service providers, Yuneec introduces an upgraded version with some new features of their Typhoon H Plus drone withIntel® RealSense™. The new version should have much better low light capabilities due to a larger one-inch 20MP sensor with a wider aperture and an extended ISO range that captures 4K video footage at 60fps. It comes with a redesigned six-rotor hex airframe that is 40% quieter than previous models. And, it will now include the Intel® RealSense™ Technology for superior collision avoidance. The Typhoon H Plus with Intel® RealSense™ Technology will be available at Best Buy stores around the country as of July 1st for $1,899.99.

The new DY5 dual charger allows you to charge two Yuneec H520 or Typhoon H Plus batteries at once. We haven’t had the chance to try it out yet but apparently, it is really simple; insert the batteries into the compartments and the DY5 dual charger will automatically.

Yunnec made a big splash at CES 2018 with the introduction of three brand new drones. The HD Racer is a racing drone that probably fits in the “toy” category, the Typhoon H Plus is a full-size professional drone that’s priced in the same category as drones like the DJI Inspire 1, and the Firebird FPV is the company’s first winged drone. Yuneec introduced three new drones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The first one, and possibly the most important one, is the Typhoon H Plus, a successor to the Typhoon H that was launched in 2016. Besides the Typhoon H Plus, Yuneec also launched a fixed-wing drone, named the Yuneec Fixed Wing Firebird FPV. Lastly, they also introduced a new budget-friendly HD racer, a first for Yuneec.
