German drone company Wingcopter has raised $22 million in its latest funding round to expand into North America and advance its technology. The company will also use the funds to strengthen its leadership in the market, deliver COVID-19 vaccines, and launch the next delivery drone.

Wingcopter has been announced as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum (WEF). Wingcopter is involved with various drone delivery projects, from commercial, long-range factory-to-factory deliveries in Germany to life-saving humanitarian projects.
Delivery drone company Wingcopter, in partnership with Merck and Frankfurt University, has completed its first drone delivery trial showcasing the benefits of drones as a delivery method. The delivery test spanned over 25 km from a Merck lab in Gernsheim, Germany, to the Merck headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany.
