The Barnegat Police have started using two new DJI drones, a DJI Matrice 210 and a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise in New Jersey. The unmanned aerial systems were paid for with grant funds available through a New Jersey Division of Highway Safety program.
12th grader, Zechen Wei broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest quadcopter to ascend to 100 meters or about 300 feet with a record time of 2.732 seconds. Wei is a senior at Princeton International School of Mathematics who has always had a passion for drones.
We knew this was coming but now it is official. Drunk drone flying is now illegal in the state of New Jersey. This past Monday, Gov. Chris Christie signed the bill into law on his last day in office, making it officially illegal to fly a drone while being under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or other hallucinogenics.
