Yesterday, the Bahamas showed off its first drones as a part of its Bahamas National Unmanned Aerial Program (BNUAP) for national security use. The demonstration was spearheaded by the Minister of National Security, Marvin Dames.

Drone maker Teal has just released its first government-focused drone, Golden Eagle, an American-made drone meant for use by government agencies and the military. The drone’s primary use is for short-range surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

The AUVSI Unmanned Systems – Defense, Protection, Security (USDPS) conference will go from September 8th and finish on the 10th with government officials from the defense, security, and public safety agencies sharing their plans for unmanned systems integration.
Auterion wants to make drones a lot more like smartphones—standardized on a common platform as Android devices are. And of course, they want to standardize drones on their platform. To achieve that, the LA-based company is branching from software into hardware, with a new family of drone avionics modules called Auterion Skynode.
