US Air Force expands partnership with Drone Racing League

The United States Air Force (USAF) has renewed its partnership with the Drone Racing League (DRL) for the seventh year. Not only has the USAF now become the longest-reigning DRL partner, but for the first time, the air service branch of the United States Armed Forces will have an endorsement with a DRL pilot who will fly as the official USAF Team Pilot.

Google Cloud is joining forces with Drone Racing League (DRL) to bring a professional drone racing event to Silicon Valley. This race will mark the launch of the 2022–23 DRL Algorand World Championship Season, which will see the world’s 12 best drone pilots race high-speed drones through iconic sports arenas, virtual SIM maps, and a metaverse world.

After offering cash prizes to top racers through its official mobile game, professional drone racing property Drone Racing League (DRL) now plans to release a virtual version of its races, giving fans a chance to earn cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Players will be able to both use their earnings in-game or trade them on markets outside the game.

Drone Racing League is now an FAA-accredited UAS event organizer

Some exciting news coming from the Drone Racing League (DRL) today. The Federal Aviation Administration has accredited DRL as the first UAS event organizer. In addition, DRL will also participate in FAA’s Partnership for Safety Plan (PSP) program to help the agency establish standardized safety protocols that all individuals and organizations would be required to follow while conducting drone demonstrations, air shows, exhibitions, and events in front of a live audience.

Drone Racing League snags $100 million sponsorship from crypto platform Algorand

New York-based Drone Racing League (DRL) has bagged a five-year sponsorship deal, reportedly worth $100 million, with crypto platform Algorand. As part of this partnership, DRL will unveil blockchain-enabled ticketing, collectibles, fan transactions, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Algorand platform. The Title rights of the DRL World Championship circuit will remain with Algorand during this time.
