DJI Airworks, the event focussed on enterprise and commercial customers, will take place in LA from August 25-27, 2020. The gathering which according to DJI shapes “the forefront of the commercial drone industry,” will take place at the same venue as last year. The Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles. DJI is currently opening up registration for speakers.

DJI Airworks 2019 took place in LA this year. DroneDJ was invited and we recorded a number of the keynotes, panel discussions, and sessions that we think are worth sharing with you. We used automated transcription software on the videos to capture all that was spoken in text, however, this method is far from perfect. It does, however, offer you the benefit of searching through the text and skipping to the parts that are relevant to you. I will put a link to the entire text in a Google Doc so that in case you’d like to help clean up the text, you can. Actually that would be much appreciated because it is simply too much work for one person to do. We will update the articles on DroneDJ if better quality text becomes available. Next week DJI Airworks 2019 will kick off at the Westin Bonaventura in downtown Los Angeles. The annual DJI event will start with a media day on Monday and will officially be open from Tuesday, September 24th through Thursday, 26th to anybody with a commercial interest in drones. In an email from DJI about Airworks, the drone maker included an image of a tractor in a field with the message that “The future of smart farming is almost here”, hinting at the possibility that they will introduce new payloads or software to help farmers optimize their fields and crops. We will be attending the event the entire week and will report any DJI news here on DroneDJ, so stay tuned.
Last year, DJI invited me to come to their DJI Airworks 2018 conference in Dallas Texas. For three days straight, I was submerged in the world of commercial drone operators, software providers and large corporations using drone technology in their day-to-day businesses. I learned a ton in a very short time, made a lot of connections within the drone industry and walked away with a much better understanding of how drone technology is already impacting different industries and businesses around the world. DJI had put together a great event that I can recommend to anybody with an interest in the commercial application of drones. This year, DJI will host, what will be already the fourth DJI Airworks 2019 conference from September 24th through September 26th in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets are on sale now for $599.
Late October 2018, DJI organized Airworks 2018 in Dallas, Texas. The conference was aimed at commercial and enterprise drone applications. During the event, DJI launched the Mavic 2 Enterprise. The conference was opened with a two-and-a-half hour lasting DJI Keynote, but probably equally interesting to most attendees were all the break-out sessions and workshops that were organized by DJI and a host of other companies active in the commercial and enterprise drone market. We had already uploaded the DJI Keynote with timestamps to YouTube, now you can also get access to all the 63 workshops and training sessions that took place during the event. DJI offers you all the DJI Airworks 2018 conference session recordings for $249, which in my view is a small price to pay to get access to a treasure of knowledge and experience.

The Commercial UAV Policy Panel (The new drone policy era ahead – How FAA Reauthorization will impact your business) was one of the most informing panels, I attended during DJI’s Airworks 2018. It provided an update and perspective of what commercial drone operators can expect now that the FAA Reauthorization Act has been signed into law. The panel consisted of some heavyweights from the drone industry, including three lawyers and a few pilots. All of them, experts on the subject matter.
I tried to capture the entire session on camera but unfortunately missed a little bit at the beginning and towards the end due to battery switching, full memory cards, etc. Either way, if you are a commercial drone operator and want to find out what the latest is, I highly recommend watching the video below.

This year’s AirWorks event from DJI started with a ton of news and partnership announcements. It is obvious that the drone maker means business when it comes to the Enterprise market. DJI started with the introduction of the Mavic 2 Enterprise yesterday, but today they followed that product release up with a lot more. Let’s dive in.
This week will be all about the DJI Airworks 2018 event in Dallas, TX. The event officially starts tomorrow, but DJI had invited DroneDJ to be present during today’s launch of their DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise drone. As DroneDJ readers will know, this drone was widely anticipated with several photos that were leaked in recent months. DJI’s Mavic 2 Enterprise edition is based on the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom, but with some significant improvements and add-ons.
Next week DJI’s annual commercial drone event, DJI Airworks will take place in Dallas, TX. Many of us are expecting the Chinese drone maker to launch the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Edition, which was recently confirmed in these FCC filings, at the event. Earlier this summer we already saw some high-resolution images of the drone as well as a few leaked images with different devices mounted on top of the drone. Now DJI Enterprise tweeted this mysterious announcement “For the Frontiers” with an October 30th date. The announcement says “It’s time for our ‘biggest’ unveil of the year” and includes an image that shows the outline of what almost seems to be a pair of binoculars. It seems safe to say the DJI will be announcing the new Mavic 2 Enterprise later this month. The remaining question is, of course, what is that thing mounted on top? Let’s take a closer look.

In advance of their annual Airworks Expo, which will take place in Dallas Texas later this month, DJI just added a new section to their website aimed at the construction market. The Chinese drone maker specifically targets real estate marketing, site mapping, and building inspection within the larger construction industry. Drone solutions that are suggested by DJI, include the Phantom 4, the Inspire and the Matrice 200.
DJI, the world’s leader in civilian drone and aerial imaging technology presented new drone technology hardware and software during the AirWorks 2017 event in Denver, CO. Michael Perry, DJI’s Managing Director for North America announced in his keynote, FlightHub, a new drone fleet management system, a new Software Development Kit (SDK) to allow developers to do more with DJI drones, two new customizable drone, the DJI Wind 4 and DJI Wind 8, and a strategic partnership with the Menlo Park Fire Protection District in California and lastly a new investment by its SkyFund investment arm.
