Fat Shark Byte Frost will compete directly with DJI

Fat Shark wasn’t about to be outdone by DJI. Fat Shark has announced on their Facebook page that they will be releasing a similar HD FPV system in the near future. This Fat Shark system dubbed Byte Frost will transmit clear 720p video to your existing Fat Shark goggles.

Fat Shark Byte Frost

The Fat Shark Byte Frost system looks to improve upon some of the biggest downsides of the DJI product. It is smaller with a more traditional 30 x 30 stack system. It will work with existing Fat Shark HDO and HD3 goggles and perhaps even others. We don’t have pricing yet, but it will likely be less expensive than DJI’s digital FPV system.

Here is what Fat Shark had to say on their Facebook page.

STRAIGHT OUTTA CHINA!

Ready for a sneak peak of “Byte Frost”, Fat Shark’s soon to be released HD FPV offering?

We’ve been itching to break the news, and, well, we will be releasing this along side DJI’s jump into HD FPV at the same time.

Byte Frost will deliver near-zero visible latency High Definition 720p 60fps video on your Fat Shark HDO’s, HD3’s and more.

Our 30×30 stack and sleek camera housing will make the conversion of your fleet a breeze, and all for a price point that will make the transition feasible at the same time.

Plus, these units will be backed by Fat Shark’s industry-leading warranty supported by technicians on 4 continents.
