DroneRise – drone captures lightning in Italy

Good morning, today’s drone video is one in the category of travel videos. It was shot on the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and shows the beauty of the Italian landscape, and captures some lightning very nicely. I don’t know about you but whenever I see videos like these, I get ready to pack my bags and book a trip to someplace beautiful. Anyways, grab your coffee and watch this video for a few minutes. You will not regret it.

For news and headlines, it really is all about the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise that was long expected and officially released yesterday in Dallas, TX during a special media event that we were invited to attend. Thank you, DJI! We also have another article about reviews on Amazon on the HS100 drone and whether those reviews are to be trusted. Very interesting stuff.

Lastly, This week is all about DJI AirWorks here in Dallas, TX. The conference officially starts today, so expect more news to come your way here on DroneDJ. Have a good one!

Today’s video captures lightning in Italy

Today’s drone video is titled: “The air of Italy.” It is a travel film that indeed makes you want to pack your bags and get out there. At least, it did for me. The aerial footage was captured on the DJI Mavic 2 Pro with its stunning colors. Lowell Abraham shot and edited the short film, but unfortunately, he did not provide us with a lot of background information. No problem though because as they say, an image is worth more than 1,000 words. A drone video, however, is even better. Go check it out!

Update from Lowell:

“Italy is one of my favorite countries to vacation. The culture, people, landscapes, food and wine are simply charming. This is my fourth time in Italy, and here is a short travel film shot on Mavic 2 Pro in D-LOG and edited using Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 15. My trip started in Florence, Tuscany where I visited the city of Montalcino and explored some of my favorite wineries. Next stop was Agrigento, Sicily; known for the ruins of the ancient city of Akragas in the Valley of the Temples, a vast archaeological site with well-preserved Greek temples. In Realmonte sits a rocky cliff on the coast called Scala dei Turchi, formed by sedimentary rock with a characteristic white color. The name is derived from the frequent raids carried on by the Moors. Lastly, the Maratea, Potenza in the Southern Italy forming the lower part of the Italian “boot” containing some of the captivating landscapes and cliffs in Europe. It is known as “the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian” with beautiful beaches, numerous churches and chapels.

Timecode & Places:

0:00 – 0:20 Montalcino, Tuscany
0:21 – 1:00 Florence, Tuscany
1:04 – 1:17 Valley of the Temples, Agrigento, Sicily
1:18 – 1:41 Stair of the Turks, Realmonte, Agrigento, Sicily
1:42 – 2:08 Acquafredda Beach and Cristo Redentore Maratea, Potenza”

We love it when you send us your videos. So, if you have a drone film that you would like to show on DroneDJ, send us an email with a link to your video on YouTube or Vimeo and provide us with some background info.
